Carinthia Gore-Tex sleeping bag cover (bivy) used (2007+)
Size aprox. 240x90 cm, weight 900g
Issued to the German Army, this bivy cover uses Carinthia's three-layer Gore-Tex Gas Permeable laminate — a variant that, unlike standard clothing-grade Gore-Tex, stays breathable even when fully sealed shut. That means you can zip yourself in completely and still avoid condensation buildup inside, with air permeability tested down to a metre of snow cover.
A mummy-cut design and double storm-flap zipper fit most sleeping bags with a center zip, turning it into a genuine tent replacement when time or space doesn't allow for one — useful for scattered field positions, observation posts, or just cutting weight on the trail. Carinthia has built military sleep systems since 1947, and this cover reflects that: no frills, just a reliable barrier between you and the weather.
